ミノキチはオユキのような美人を見た夜の事を彼女に話した。彼はその光景が夢だったのか現実だったのか判断できなかった。
オユキはミノキチの話を聞き終えて、誰にも話さないという約束を破ったことを責めた。彼女は空気に溶けて消えて、二度と現れなかった。
