あらすじ

仕立屋が休んでいると、突然ドレッサーから物音が聞こえた。ドレッサーには食器やカップが置かれていて、仕立屋が伏せて置かれたティーカップを持ち上げるとレディマウスが現れて、仕立屋に会釈をした。そしてドレッサーから飛び降りて羽目板の裏に消えた。

The tailor crossed the kitchen, and stood quite still beside the dresser, listening, and peering through his spectacles.

"This is very peculiar," said the Tailor of Gloucester; and he lifted up the tea-cup which was upside down.

Then she hopped away down off the dresser, and under the wainscot.
