Oshidori『#1_怪談_オシドリ』対訳

あらすじ

　あるところに、一人の猟師がいた。ある日、彼はオシドリを見つけて、罪悪感を感じつつ、空腹のあまりオスを狩ってしまった。メスは逃げていった。

Original and Japanese translation

There was a falconer and hunter, named Sonjō, who lived in the district called Tamura-no-Gō, of the province of Mutsu.

KWAIDAN

　陸奥の国のタムラの郷という地域に住んでいるソンジョウという名の猟師がおりました。

One day he went out hunting, and could not find any game.

KWAIDAN

　ある日、猟師は狩りに出ました。しかし何の獲物も見つかりませんでした。

But on his way home, at a place called Akanuma, he perceived a pair of oshidori(mandarin-ducks), swimming together in a river that he was about to cross.

KWAIDAN

　しかしその帰り道、アカヌマという場所で、猟師はつがいのオシドリに気がつきました。猟師が渡ろうとした川で、オシドリたちは泳いでいました。

To kill oshidori is not good; but Sonjō happened to be very hungry, and he shot at the pair.

KWAIDAN

　オシドリを狩ることは良くありません。しかしソンジョウはちょうど空腹で、そのツガイを撃ちました。

His arrow pierced the male: the female escaped into the rushes of the further shore, and disappeared.

KWAIDAN

　彼の矢はオスを射抜きました。メスは向こう岸に慌てて逃げて、姿を消しました。

Sonjō took the dead bird home, and cooked it.

KWAIDAN

　ソンジョウは死んだ鳥を持ち帰り、それを調理しました。
