“Indeed we shall meet again,” Nagao answered earnestly.
KWAIDAN

「絶対にまた会いましょう」長尾が熱心に答えました。

“And in that Pure Land there will be no pain of separation.”
KWAIDAN

「浄土には死に別れの苦しみがありません」

“Nay, nay!” she responded softly, “I meant not the Pure Land.
KWAIDAN

「いいえ！私は浄土のことを言っているのではありません」オテイは穏やかに答えました。

I believe that we are destined to meet again in this world,—although I shall be buried to-morrow.”
KWAIDAN

「私たちはこの世でもう一度出会う運命にあると信じています。私は明日埋葬されるでしょうが」

Nagao looked at her wonderingly, and saw her smile at his wonder. She continued, in her gentle, dreamy voice,—
KWAIDAN

　長尾は不思議そうに彼女を見ました。彼女は彼の戸惑いに微笑んで、穏やかに夢見るような声で続けて言いました。

“Yes, I mean in this world,—in your own present life, Nagao-Sama… Providing, indeed, that you wish it.
KWAIDAN

「現世で、あなたが生きているうちにという意味です。長尾様……あなたがそれを望むのならば」

Only, for this thing to happen, I must again be born a girl, and grow up to womanhood.
KWAIDAN

「ただ、再び出会うまでに、私はもう一度少女に生まれて、大人の女性に成長しなければなりません」

So you would have to wait. Fifteen—sixteen years: that is a long time…
KWAIDAN

「１５・６年もの時間を待つことになりましょう」

But, my promised husband, you are now only nineteen years old.”…
KWAIDAN

「でも、あなたは今はまだ１９歳です」
